From the very beginning, we see that God creates with uniqueness and diversity. A life of wholeness and holiness is one where each person works and rests according to their uniqueness in God. But as we also see in the various descriptions of church in the New Testament, a life of purpose and balance is also one in which we work and rest with each other. Church is a community in which we’re empowered to do both: flourish in our unique gifts and calling and work and rest in strong connection with others. Let’s talk about this together.

From the beginning, God creates humankind to work with God and like God and to rest with God and like God. A purposeful, balanced life is found in this. But it's easy to get out of sorts with work and rest. We do things like fuse our work with our identity. We miss out on the kind of deep, soulful rest that the Bible illustrates and Jesus embodied. In this series, we want to help people make their way back to working and resting with God and like God.
