The Bible is obsessed with rest. From the very beginning, God...rests. And God has commands and regulations about…rest, or something called sabbath. Most people don’t rest well. Folks might say, “Oh, I take time off,” or “I sleep pretty well.” But rest in the Bible is different. It certainly includes days off and sleep. But it’s bigger than those things. We’re going to explore the Bible’s BIG picture of rest, and we’re going to consider how we incorporate that big picture into our lives.

From the beginning, God creates humankind to work with God and like God and to rest with God and like God. A purposeful, balanced life is found in this. But it's easy to get out of sorts with work and rest. We do things like fuse our work with our identity. We miss out on the kind of deep, soulful rest that the Bible illustrates and Jesus embodied. In this series, we want to help people make their way back to working and resting with God and like God.
