If we’re going to make it to where we want to be in life, we have to step back and think about our picture of “where we want to be.” How did we get that picture? Did we form this picture in order to run from something? Did we draw this picture of where we want to be in order to prove ourselves? If we think that realizing our vision is going to establish our identity, we’re off course before we’ve even started. Before we settle on a vision that is good, we have to reflect on our identity. Vision flows out of identity, not the other way around
