The Spiritual Life We're Yearning for, vol 3: Beyond Survival
Message at 29:00. We are wired to survive, and our survival instincts are impressive. Even they are an insight into how we’re divinely made. But we’re also made for more than just surviving. The difficult thing, however, is that moving toward that more involves us confronting our fears of loss, change, and, above all, mortality. These are the very things Jesus calls us to do. He himself did it in his crucifixion and resurrection. While growing up from survival-minded–survival-obsessed living!l–is hard, the adventurous, fruitful life we can experience with the Holy Spirit is much, much better.

We all have these nudges throughout our days that tell us there's more to this life, this human existence. Many people have tried to go after this more in church but have found themselves disappointed by organized religion. We're spending a few weeks talking about the deeply spiritual life we're all yearning for.
