Message at 23:15. Americans have very different opinions about the Bible (though sometimes you may get the impression that people view it the same way, and that there is only one way to view it). For some, the Bible is a source of great comfort and food for their faith. For others, the Bible has been and is a source of harm. In this series, we want to step back and reconsider what the Bible is and also perhaps what it isn’t. We want to help people who love the Bible already and also those who maybe have grown to be very suspicious of it to have a new view of the beauty and power of the Bible. To kick off the series, we’re going to talk about how we got the Bible in the first place, and we’re going to reflect on if/how we can trust that the Bible is the “inspired Word of God” or “God-breathed.”

For many people, the Bible is at the very least...difficult. For lots of people, the Bible was once a place of inspiration and peace, but then it became a source of confusion and frustration. For others, the Bible has always symbolized pain and hurt. Even for people who have loved the Bible over the years, there are parts of the Bible that are disorienting. In this series, we want to help people find the Bible to be holy (again).
