Pursuing wonder—a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable—is something we can practice everyday with our surroundings, with people and ourselves. Doing this leads to gratitude and joy. It leads to greater connection with God, greater connection with ourselves and others. It’s even something we can practice in the midst of suffering.
In this series, we're exploring "the spiritual practice of wonder." There's a verse in the Bible that says, "The earth is the LORD's and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants too." We can be surprised by God all around us if we're looking, and this surprise can guide us to joy, gratitude, and responsibility even in dark times.
