Message at 21:15. We’ve been talking about how we can find the Bible to be holy again and how to rediscover the beauty and power of the scriptures. This week, we’re talking about what we do when we come across those parts of the Bible that are hard to come to grips with, especially the miracles and the supernatural. What do we do, for instance, when we read that there was a guy who got swallowed by a fish and spent three days and three nights inside that great fish? Are we supposed to take that literally? Is it all literal, or are some supernatural elements of the BIble that are literal while others are not? In the end, how do find God’s heart and God’s purposes for us when we encounter strange moments in the Bible that don’t make sense with our experience of the world?

For many people, the Bible is at the very least...difficult. For lots of people, the Bible was once a place of inspiration and peace, but then it became a source of confusion and frustration. For others, the Bible has always symbolized pain and hurt. Even for people who have loved the Bible over the years, there are parts of the Bible that are disorienting. In this series, we want to help people find the Bible to be holy (again).
