Message at 30:00. Last week, we talked about how a theme that runs throughout the Bible is that God’s heart is ruled by grace ultimately and that God’s desire in the end is for restoration (not revenge and retribution). But here’s another tough theme throughout the Bible: Evil seems to be everywhere and seems to be winning. Where is God now? What do we make of all this evil that is around us (and in us)? What can we trust, hope and do about now? And how does that connect to wherever everything ends up?
Scripture: Psalm 42-44
A lot of the rotten fruit we experience of Christianity in our neck of the woods comes from distorted views about "the end" and "judgment." We're stepping back to reexamine what the Bible, and especially Jesus, has to say about God's judgment, God's justice, and how everything gets made right in the end.
